Responsibilities:
- Be a trusted advisor to middle market and Fortune 500 clients by offering strategic state and local tax consulting services
- Manage multi-disciplinary, multi-state reviews analyzing various taxes to optimize filing options and reduce tax burdens
- Research state tax issues, counsel clients on tax controversies, and plan/executes tax projects
- Prepare technical memoranda on state and local tax issues and maintain active communication with clients
- Assist in managing client engagement staffing, billings, and collections
- Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships internally and externally
- Invest in professional development and support team members' growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters or advanced degree preferred
- CPA, CMI, or JD/LLM required
- 8+ years of experience in state and local tax, preferably in a professional services firm
- 5+ years of supervisory experience desired
- Demonstrated ability to lead, provide exceptional client service, and stay current with tax strategies
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Additional Information:
For California, Colorado, New York, and Washington: The compensation range for this role is $119,070 to $252,370. Actual compensation depends on factors like skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
