Armed School Security Officers - Law Enforcement Only

Location:
Based near Wheaton, IL

ATTENTION:
This position requires previous Law Enforcement with School Resource Officer, DARE, Juvenile Officer or similar experience ONLY.

Reports To:
School Director of Security

Responsibilities of a School Resource Officer include:

  • Conducting foot patrols of school entrances, halls, playgrounds, parking lots, and offices to ensure that the property is safe of any illegal or inappropriate activity, as well as take preventative actions to protect the property of the students and staff.
  • Assist with student drop off and pick up procedures and traffic direction.
  • Writing clear and accurate reports according to the Operations Manual guidelines to document incidents.
  • Coordinate Fire and Security Drills with students and staff.
  • Coordinate Police and Fire response.
  • Remain highly visible crime deterrant.
  • Availability for scheduled after school activities.
  • Complete assigned training both online and in person.

Requirements:

  • Prior Law Enforcement Officer experience with SRO, DARE, Juvenile Officer or other similar experience.
  • Successful completion of drug test and background check and in good standing with ILETSB or similar State agency.
  • Have or qualify for IROCC (Illinois) or HB218 qualifications.
  • Maintain a high level of firearm safety and use.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
  • Possess and maintain current First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed certification. TECC prefered
  • Ability to learn and use new software efficiently
  • Able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States.

$ $35.00 per hour
