JOB TITLE: Court Clerk at Pinal County

Under limited supervision, you will perform complex and sensitive work in assisting customers, processing court documents and files, and **performing advanced clerical** and **record-keeping** duties in the Clerk of the Superior Court's Office. Key Responsibilities:
  • Responds to complex questions and/or resolves process issues from court personnel, attorneys, judges, and the public in person, electronically, or in the courtroom.
  • Assists customers, attorneys, county, and government agencies with obtaining case information.
  • Performs advanced clerical work on complex court filings and processes.
  • Leads, trains, and mentors clerks in performing clerical duties.
  • Summarizes data and prepares monthly/quarterly reports within the department.
  • Conducts complex process and legal research for the area of assignment.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert in receiving, processing, certifying, and issuing court documents.
  • Provides input to management on organizational needs and staff evaluations.
  • Interprets statutes, court rules, and court procedures.
  • Completes special projects and assumes responsibilities in the absence of the department supervisor.
  • Promotes workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork.
  • Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and customer records.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years progressively responsible experience as a Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court or equivalent court service related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid Arizona State Driver's License.
  • Court experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of court procedures and services.
  • Skill in using data processing systems and other office equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Physical Demands:

Independent body mobility to stand, walk, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time. Manual dexterity to reach, grasp, and use computer keyboard; vision, hearing, and speech ability.
