Handles accounting, financial analysis and reporting, and budgeting for assigned business units. Ensures all activities are completed in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

As a member of the Finance team, participates in the attainment of department and company goals and demonstrates Spartans Core Operating Values through work activities, actions and behaviors.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs monthly general ledger journal entries and financial analysis and reporting. Reviews general ledger for reasonableness and prepares casual analysis against budget and/or recast.
Prepares, maintains, and distributes detailed weekly spreadsheets related to sales forecasts, conversion spending, tooling supply item usage, etc. Prepares monthly forecast, reviews with plant leadership and attends monthly meeting with CSC management.

Handles the maintenance and generation of reports in the areas of cost of goods sold, product profitability, standard costing, and inventory analysis.

Inputs resulting charts into monthly operations reviews.

Maintains all process routings, work centers, locations, and part attributes in the ERP system for Operations use on the production floor.

Maintains and inputs standard costs for all inventory items and supply items.
Reviews monthly cycle counts of all production parts and inventory reconciliations of all plant side inventory. Presence is required for all physical inventory audits.
Prepares annual budget files with required data entry and assists with any other budget prep activities.
Provides ERP system support for operations and inventory related to ERP system issues/questions.
Reviews and analyzes plant financial statements to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to achieve financial targets. Assists plant with operational metrics that are linked to financials.
Handles compliance reporting activities, including taxes, incentive programs, surveys, etc.

Monitors and maintains general ledger controls and internal controls to ensure controls are working properly in compliance with established procedures, GAAP and FAS.

Maintains general ledger accounts and financial statement formats.

Acts as a resource to plant and corporate staff and leadership to assist with questions, problem resolution, and a resource for department information, policies, practices and procedures.

Provides assistance to department, and plant management, and completes assigned projects, as requested.

Contributes to and supports the existence of a positive work environment through personal involvement by communicating, interacting and behaving in a manner that promotes productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, vendors, and others with whom such relationships are important to the success of company operations.

Performs other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree
5+ years experience

Preferred:
Supervisory experience
CPA designation or in the process of attainment
