SUMMARY

POSITION OVERVIEW

Needs to have a strong ability to influence and negotiate with trading partners to achieve the best results for clients and potential clients. Responsibilities include coordinating placement activities for new and renewed business to support business retention and production objectives. Knowledge of relevant coverages, carrier guidelines, alternative funding arrangements, underwriting, and legislative updates is crucial. Also, fostering relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and colleagues at World is key.

WORK EXPERIENCE/JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the commercial insurance brokerage industry, specifically in placement, carrier underwriting, or carrier relationship management; or a combination of these areas
  • Thorough understanding of the sales, service, and placement processes of a national insurance brokerage firm

RESPONSIBILITIES

Understanding World's areas of expertise, structure, distribution strategy, and value proposition

Broad knowledge of the global insurance industry, including:

  • Small Commercial and Middle Market account segments
  • Standard property and casualty products
  • Excess and Surplus Lines marketplace
  • Commercial Insurance program designs
  • Collaborating on placement strategies for optimal outcomes
  • Leading coverage placement processes and negotiations
  • Building strong relationships with underwriters

COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Intermediate expertise in Excel

PROFESSIONAL LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Preferred insurance designations like ARM or CPCU
  • Licensed Property & Casualty insurance producer

EDUCATION

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent professional designation
