OVERVIEW:
This role involves operating wire feed MIG pulse welders to weld steel components together based on blueprints, jigs, and fixtures. The primary tasks include tacking and final welding parts to assist in the assembly of the final product, service parts distribution, and engineering research and development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Remove slag from plasma cut parts through grinding and deburring
  • Clean, scrap, grind, or sand completed parts
  • Operate handheld plasma, oxy-acetylene torch, handheld grinder, and die grinder
  • Weld simple and complex components as per specified prints
  • Utilize jigs, fixtures, and welding spits to clamp, secure, and final weld parts
  • Perform general welding equipment maintenance and repair
  • Operate necessary tools and equipment like pallet jack, cylinder dolly, forklift, and cart caddy
  • Use measuring tools such as caliper, tape measure, and micrometer
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two (2) year certification from a technical school (preferred)
  • One (1) year certification from a technical school OR one (1) year MIG welding experience OR a combination of at least one (1) year of experience, training, and education (required)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using jigs and fixtures for welding applications
  • Strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Effective problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail
  • Capable of working well under pressure
  • Understanding and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Ability to read and comprehend welding blueprints and symbols
  • Experience in heavy and light gauge steel welding and fabrication
  • Traits of dependability, initiative, and proficient time management

The selected candidate should be physically fit as the role requires standing, walking, handling objects, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities are necessary for this role.
