● Investigate complex influence operations within the gaming community to understand
manifestations of abuse on video game platforms and the broader gaming ecosystem.
● Lead a portfolio of investigative research tailored to the gaming industry, including
identifying abuse trends, understanding adversarial behavior, and designing
forward-looking enforcement strategies to mitigate harm specific to gaming culture.
● Utilize knowledge of gaming culture, vernacular, and societal context in investigative
work.
● Proactively hunt for threats and undetected abuse within gaming communities by
leveraging internal datasets, open-source intelligence, and third-party private
intelligence, focusing on gaming-specific indicators.
● Analyze qualitative and quantitative gaming data to advance investigations, quantify
trends, and provide clear, concise evidence relevant to the gaming community.
● Lead in suggesting, prototyping, and teaching novel investigative techniques and
analytic methodologies tailored to the video game industry.
● Apply operational rigor to investigations and programs while identifying strategic
improvement opportunities specific to the gaming environment.
● Address sensitive content issues within the gaming space, including but not limited to
graphic images, videos, offensive language, and objectionable material related to video
game content.
● Utilize cyber threat intelligence tools, datasets, and analytic techniques relevant to the
gaming industry.
Minimum Qualifications:
● 3+ years of work experience performing security investigations in government,
intelligence, cybersecurity, journalism, or private sector organizations, with a strong
understanding of gaming culture and vernacular.
● Experience leveraging SQL, OSINT, and network security concepts in an investigative
context, with a focus on gaming-specific contexts.
● Ability to develop multi-source, evidence-based findings and communicate them to
senior audiences within the gaming industry.
● Experience working on high-impact threats within the gaming community under
compressed timelines.
● Ability to prioritize and execute with minimal direction or oversight within the gaming
environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience working with Python, PHP, or similar scripting languages in a gaming
context.
● Proven experience conducting large-scale data analysis and utilizing big data tools such
as Jupyter Notebook, Maltego, Palantir, etc., with a focus on gaming data.
● Experience working on projects with enterprise-wide impact and/or multi-organization
cross-functional stakeholders within the gaming industry.
● Experience working with teams spanning multiple locations/time zones, with an
understanding of global gaming communities.
● Familiarity with sophisticated advanced persistent threat actors, influence operations
research methodologies, and domain trends within the gaming space.
● Experience with open-source investigation techniques and familiarity with a variety of
internet research tools relevant to gaming communities.
