BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
AIS is committed to developing practical solutions for customers by providing custom engineering, valuable product insights, and a wide array of suppliers globally. This role focuses on placing purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Focused, Inquisitive and Open-minded, Team Player, Consistent in Words and Actions, Problem-solving driven
- Run reports to identify items needing purchase and update delivery dates
- Expedite items and paperwork to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor and forecast inventory levels and incoming shipments
- Enforce quality standards and purchasing procedures
- Support in developing supply chain strategies
- Visit supplier locations and host them at AIS
- Enforce company culture and values
- Participate in special projects and additional duties as necessary
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Business, Finance, or Engineering) or two years of relevant purchasing experience required
- Prior experience in Direct OEM Fastener or Component supply chain is advantageous
- CPIM/CSCP APICS certification is a plus
SKILLS:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Effective problem-solving and negotiation abilities
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Prophet 21 ERP
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexible working hours
- Occasional travel expected, less than 5%
Compensation starting at $63,000 depending on experience. The salary range is based on industry standards and market conditions. Actual compensation is determined based on the candidate's background, education, and peer comparisons.
