Job Description

Turner & Townsend is in search of a seasoned Senior Construction Manager to join a significant commercial real estate construction venture in Orlando, FL. This role involves overseeing project delivery from start to finish.

The ideal candidate should possess at least 8 years of construction experience and excel in client-facing roles. As the Construction Manager, you will collaborate with the general contractor and architect/engineer services provider on all construction-related tasks, such as:

  • Site layout/design (including roads, infrastructure, utilities, etc.)
  • Constructability reviews, risk assessment, and report preparation
  • Leading the Turner & Townsend site project team
  • Interacting with various stakeholders like vendors, architects, engineers, suppliers, and General Contractor
  • Expertise in commercial construction management, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards

Design Phase Services

  • Supporting the development of Minimum Functionality Case and identifying enhancements
  • Contributing to Value Engineering efforts and long-lead procurement items
  • Assisting in preparing procurement requests and defining project success criteria
  • Reviewing design and construction drawings, risk assessment, and baseline schedule development

Design and Construct

  • Engaging with local authorities, developers, and utility providers
  • Coordinating with Commissioning Agent and reviewing project submittals

Construction Phase Services including Commissioning and Handover to Operations

  • Assessing project schedules, overseeing construction activities, and attending progress meetings
  • Evaluating construction progress and coordinating project reporting
  • Monitoring project documentation and conducting inspections and tests

Qualifications

  • Leading and organizing multiple stakeholders while communicating effectively
  • Demonstrating tenacity, problem-solving skills, and fostering good relationships with the project team
  • Must have on-site working capacity

Education/Experience

  • Experience in managing large-scale projects exceeding $300M
  • 10-15 years of project management experience, a degree in Construction Management, and OSHA certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools like MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
