About the Position
A Rehab Registered Nurse at Lifespan provides care for patients in our Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center. This unit is an Acute Rehab Center providing care to patients with serious medical conditions. As a Rehab RN with Lifespan, you will assist patients with adapting to an altered lifestyle to attain and maintain maximum function.

Formed in 1994, Lifespan is a not-for-profit health system based in Providence, Rhode Island comprising three teaching hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize specialized knowledge and clinical skills to provide care to patients
  • Provide leadership by delegating, supervising, and participating in safe nursing care activities
  • Evaluate effectiveness of patient care and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients and their families, and community services
  • Assess and provide appropriate education based on the patient and family needs
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research activities
  • Utilize all available resources to provide quality, cost-effective patient care
  • Identify growth needs and participate in educational opportunities
  • Serve as a role model or preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced personnel

Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Rhode Island
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • 6 months of acute health care experience, preferred
