Job Description and Duties

This position is the advanced journey level that involves a variety of challenging duties requiring a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality. The role demands detailed and sensitive public interactions, as well as independent correspondence involving in-depth knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures. Good judgment and effective communication skills are crucial at this level. The work is typically reviewed rarely, and may include providing guidance and training to less experienced employees.

Minimum Requirements:
  • One year of clerical experience at a level equivalent to an Office Assistant, Range B in California state service.
    OR
  • Two years of experience in typing and clerical work.

Academic education above high school may substitute for some experience. Students in the final semester of relevant coursework may also be eligible.

Applicants eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered.

Working Conditions

Travel may be required.
