Summary:

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is responsible for carrying out routine service tasks and procedures essential for the care, comfort, and safety of the residents. This includes performing activities for daily living (ADLs) and other tasks within the CNA's scope of work. The CNA will uphold a clean, secure environment that aligns with the preferences and requirements of the residents by applying fundamental knowledge of communication techniques, infection control, safety measures, body mechanics, and age-related variances while delivering care.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Effective communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain patience and sensitivity when engaging in various repetitive and occasionally challenging tasks
  • Emotional maturity and capability to prevent personal issues from affecting the quality and consistency of service
  • Prior experience in gerontology is desirable
  • Valid Texas Nurse Aide Certificate
