The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Department of Human Services (DHS) merged on July 1, 2022, to form one agency, The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
We are looking for a Child and Family Service Case Manager (Social Worker 2) to join our team.
Are you passionate about working with children and families? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, currently seeking a team member in the Family and Child Well-Being Division. HHS focuses on supporting families who have faced abuse and neglect.
In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing and assisting children and families for success. Additionally, you will collaborate with team members, the courts, and various community resources to ensure families reach their full potential.
HOURS:
- Core hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. with flexibility based on approval.
- Overtime may be required as necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Travel, a valid driver's license, and reliable vehicle.
LOCATIONS:
- This position is open in Dubuque County, IA, requiring in-office presence for the first six months.
- Telework may be an option after probation, subject to approval.
SALARY: Hourly rate of $33.50
DUTIES:
- Manage diverse caseloads of children and families, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Address various needs including safety, education, health, and mental well-being.
- Evaluate and document children's safety and risk through home visits and reports.
- Provide timely and detailed documentation for court cases.
- Collaborate with a range of community partners based on case requirements.
- Attend court hearings and offer professional testimony on behalf of HHS.
