Production Manager at Chemical Manufacturing Facility

The Production Manager will be accountable for managing and enhancing all production activities at our chemical manufacturing facility. This pivotal role will guarantee the efficient, cost-effective, and secure production of aviation materials, while upholding top-notch quality standards.

We are currently in search of a highly skilled and seasoned Production Manager to join our dynamic team and supervise our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Management:
    • Supervise daily production operations, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
    • Create and implement production schedules to meet customer requirements and optimize resource utilization.
    • Monitor production KPIs and execute corrective measures to tackle deviations.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Guide, mentor, and cultivate a team of production supervisors, operators, and technicians.
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continual improvement within the production team.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer feedback to team members.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Recognize and execute process enhancements to boost efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce production costs.
    • Collaborate with the R&D and engineering teams to scale up new products from pilot to full-scale production.
    • Employ Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to steer continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all products meet strict quality standards and customer specifications.
    • Institute and sustain robust quality control systems and procedures.
    • Tackle and resolve any production-related quality issues promptly.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Promote a robust safety culture and assure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
    • Develop and implement safety training programs for production staff.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
    • Supervise inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure uninterrupted production.
    • Collaborate with the procurement team to secure high-quality raw materials at competitive prices.
    • Work with logistics to optimize the supply chain and delivery schedules.
  • Budgeting and Reporting:
    • Develop and manage the production budget, controlling costs and optimizing spending.
    • Produce regular production reports for senior management, showcasing performance metrics and improvement plans.
    • Engage in strategic planning and contribute to long-term business goals.
Profile
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production management role within the chemical manufacturing sector, with a focus on aviation materials.
  • Demonstrated history of successful team leadership and process optimization.
  • Solid understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal aptitude.
