The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for providing one-to-one behavioral management interventions for children and adolescents with emotional disturbances in various settings. The BHT aims to prevent the need for more restrictive services or out-of-home placements by implementing specific behavioral strategies outlined in the treatment plan.

The Essential Functions of this Position Include:Communication
  • Maintain contact with relevant parties

Documentation
  • Complete all documentation promptly
  • Thorough and accurate record-keeping
  • Document all interactions and incidents as required
Planning
  • Organize interventions
  • Ensure service continuity through meetings and trainings
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Activities
  • Assist in service evaluation and planning
Monitoring
  • Provide oversight and direction to assigned individuals
  • Support direct supervisors in their roles
  • Assess consumer needs regularly
Direct Service
  • Offer ongoing support

Qualifications
  • Education and/or Experience
  • Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
  • Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) certification
  • Behavioral Health or Behavior Analysis certification
  • High School Diploma + 40-hour training on Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Task List
  • Good communication skills
  • Interaction abilities in various settings
  • Special Skills: Familiarity with child-serving systems
