The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for providing one-to-one behavioral management interventions for children and adolescents with emotional disturbances in various settings. The BHT aims to prevent the need for more restrictive services or out-of-home placements by implementing specific behavioral strategies outlined in the treatment plan.
The Essential Functions of this Position Include:Communication- Maintain contact with relevant parties
- Effective advocacy for consumer needs
- Timely communication of essential information
- Collaboration for service continuity
- Complete all documentation promptly
- Thorough and accurate record-keeping
- Document all interactions and incidents as required
- Organize interventions
- Ensure service continuity through meetings and trainings
- Participate in Performance Improvement Activities
- Assist in service evaluation and planning
- Provide oversight and direction to assigned individuals
- Support direct supervisors in their roles
- Assess consumer needs regularly
- Offer ongoing support
- Create a positive environment for growth
- Implement treatment plans effectively
- Provide feedback on interventions
- Represent the agency at events
- Complete assigned duties
- Effective communication with all staff
- Problem-solving abilities
- Clear presentation of information
- Numerical proficiency
- Ability to give clear instructions
- Knowledge of the Behavioral Health system and other relevant systems
- Proficiency in using computers and software
- Education and/or Experience
- Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
- Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) certification
- Behavioral Health or Behavior Analysis certification
- High School Diploma + 40-hour training on Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Task List
- Good communication skills
- Interaction abilities in various settings
- Special Skills: Familiarity with child-serving systems
- Physical tasks and lifting requirements
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver's license
- Flexible work schedule

- Utilization of trauma-informed practices
