Job Description
The Administrative Support Specialist role provides essential support for research projects and educational outreach events managed by the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) and its affiliated research centers. Working closely with ICAT and center faculty and staff, this position focuses on administrative support, event coordination, logistics communication, and outreach activities. Responsibilities include organizing meetings, handling travel arrangements, and coordinating site visits/field trips. Collaboration with various stakeholders is a key component of this position, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This role typically involves 10-20 hours of work per week and may occasionally necessitate regional travel and non-traditional work hours.

Required Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have experience in providing administrative support in an office or educational setting, including supporting event planning activities like meetings and travel coordination. Proficiency with various software tools such as word processing, calendar software, and video conference applications is essential. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including students, faculty, administrators, and external parties. Adaptability and professionalism in managing unexpected changes and emergencies are crucial for this role.
