Overview:
Come join one of the newest properties to the Marriott Bonvoy's Autograph Collection. Hotel Effie joins the brand's unique portfolio of diverse and dynamic properties, Exactly Like Nothing Else.


The Lead Bartender is responsible for understanding the complete setup of the bar area and the mixing of drinks for all guests and servers, to train/develop new and current bartenders.

Lead Bartenders must maintain the highest level of service and cleanliness of the bar area, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and control over liquor inventory.


Responsibilities:
Employees must always be positive, attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.

Process guests' checks, collect cash, and process credit cards and room charges according to standards.


Perform and develop additional opening and closing side work according to standards to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.

Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the standards, for mixing, jigger use for portion control, and presentation.

Serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a positive, warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.

Training new bartenders on all aspects of bar operations, drink recipes, customer service, and safety protocols.

Coordinating bartender schedules, breaks, and coverage during both peak and off-peak hours.

Leading and providing guidance to bartenders and barbacks, ensuring they adhere to established procedures.

Providing guidance and training to bartenders in upselling techniques to increase sales and enhance the guest experience.


Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that bar has clean towels, glassware, etc.

Assisting with supply management, including ordering supplies, tracking usage, and minimizing waste.

Ensuring the bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer by maintaining par levels.

Maintain compliance with Hotel Effie's & Departmental SOP's


Maintaining the highest standard of bar cleanliness by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.

Including lounge areas and bar stools.

Be familiar with the P.O.S

Perform cashiering functions by closing checks, cash handling, and servicing the guest.

Follow all state liquor laws. ID guests under 30 years of age.

Assist in maintaining beverage costs by reducing waste, spills, and breakage.

Follow prescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests, and when necessary, management report.

Complete beverage requisitions to maintain par levels as needed.

Stock and clean glassware, maintain inventory par level.

Check CO2 tanks and soda bibs to ensure that they are full and secured properly to the bar.

Prepare all garnishes, liquor batching requirements before, during, or after service.

Assist in cleaning of tables and all lounge areas as needed.

Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Participating and completing monthly beverage inventory in accordance with Hotel Effie standards. Including actively monitoring and controlling inventory levels.

Developing and maintaining the beverage menu, including seasonal specialties, signature cocktails, and wine selections.


Responsible for overseeing and enforcing all hotel/departmental policies and procedures are followed by associates when management is not present on the floor.

Answer the telephone according to standards, review voicemails and return calls to guests.

Knowledge of menu items, including beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors. Preparing reports on sales, inventory, and operational matters for management review.

Qualifications:


Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in a positive, attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.


Showcasing mixology skills by creatively developing new cocktails for the beverage menu, including seasonal and specialty cocktails, signature drinks, and wine selections.

Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a positive, attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

Attend all hotel-required meetings and training.


Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Effie Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform.

Comply with Hotel Effie Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.

Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.

Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives. Including basic math.

Must be able to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.

Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.

Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.

Perform other duties as requested by management.

Flexible and long hours sometimes required.


Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Ability to stand for the entire shift.

Participate in month-end inventory of beverage, as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.

Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages, according to local state laws.

Previous 2 years bartending experience in luxury hotels and/or fine dining restaurants preferred.
