Contract Attorney – Legal Department

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Legal Department as a Contract Attorney. In this role, you will collaborate with a team to drive success in drafting and negotiating various contracts. Ideal candidates will be independent, self-motivated, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.

As a Contract Attorney, you will work closely with colleagues from different disciplines, contributing to innovative problem-solving. This position offers the opportunity to interact with various levels of the organization, including clinical, research, and finance teams, as well as external partners, as we strive to develop life-saving therapies for patients.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage company Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), including tracking and monitoring requests, recording contracts, and tracking legal provisions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts such as non-disclosure, vendor, collaboration, licensing, and clinical trial agreements.
  • Create and update templates, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop contract strategies.
  • Engage internal experts for information gathering, document development, and contract negotiations.
  • Prepare contract summaries and provide advice on contract interpretation.
  • Generate reports and handle data requests from internal stakeholders.
  • Improve efficiency and coordination of contract processes.
  • Offer training and guidance on contract processes.
  • Present results to multidisciplinary teams in written and oral formats.
  • Support stakeholders on legal, commercial, and policy matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance systems.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum 3+ years of corporate contract experience.
  • Up-to-date on legal and regulatory updates.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and DocuSign.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software.
  • California Bar License.
