The Mission Neighborhood Health Center is a non-profit, multi-site community health organization offering comprehensive health services in the Mission and Excelsior Districts of San Francisco. The center offers primary health care services, adult medicine, pediatrics, family planning, OB/GYN, HIV and homeless services.

We are currently looking for qualified candidates for our HR Assistant role.

The Human Resources Assistant supports the CHRO and the HR Team in planning, developing, and managing all operations of Human Resources. The HR Assistant provides administrative support on a wide variety of HR projects and has exposure to all aspects of HR. The HR Assistant is the first point of contact for both candidates and employees when interacting with the HR department. The position requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for working with others and a desire to sustain and strengthen relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Play a vital role in supporting all aspects of the HR function, partnering with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient employee experience.
  2. Provide administrative support to the Chief HR Officer including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and managing calendar.
  3. Perform general administrative duties for the HR function including scanning, distributing mail, maintaining files, etc.
  4. Establish and organize, the maintenance of department records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in our HRIS
  5. Manage the Human Resources email box. Respond and or/direct employee questions to the appropriate HR team member.
  6. Event planning and assists HR department in carrying out various employee activities, programs, and events for the organization's employees at all locations.
  7. Handle high-level inquiries quickly, proactively, and follow through on tasks to successful completion in a timely manner
  8. Handle confidential and non-routine information and facilitate communication between appropriate departments
  9. Point person for recruitment efforts using our Applicant Tracking System, including screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and responding to candidates with the ATS.
  10. Coordinate on-boarding for new hires, to include, coordination of new hire paperwork, follow-up with on-boarding throughout the new hire's introductory period.
  11. Has a good understanding of human resource functions.
  12. Ensures all up-to-date legal postings are placed in a designated area within established timeframes.
  13. Adheres to confidentiality and HIPAA policy.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Business/Human Resources or combination of education with 2 or more years of professional administrative experience.
