Position Information Job Title Lecturer/Teaching Professor in Anatomy and Physiology Classification Title Rank Lecturer Tenure Information Job Description The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Elizabethtown College invites applicants for a full-time, 9-month Lecturer/Teaching Professor in Anatomy and Physiology to begin August 1st, 2024.

The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences is part of the School of Sciences and Health at Elizabethtown College.

The Department consists of eight full-time faculty members who value collaboration, interdisciplinary thinking, and student-focused teaching. The School of Sciences and Health is committed to preparing students for lifelong learning, service, and professional outcomes. Approximately 30% of Elizabethtown College students are first generation college students.

In addition to serving students pursuing degrees in biology, biotechnology, and environmental science, the Department has significant teaching responsibilities that extend to undergraduate majors such as occupational therapy and exercise science.

The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences supports the ideals of learning, discovery, inclusion, and engagement through instruction and research in the biological and environmental sciences.

Job Duties The Lecturer/Teaching Professor in Biology will typically teach 15 contact hours including human anatomy and physiology lectures and labs and, as needed, introductory biology lecture and lab.


Experience working and teaching with human cadavers is preferred, but not required.

They will also work with department faculty to support a diversity of learners, revise and innovate lecture and laboratory curriculum, and maintain lab space and equipment.


Academic advising will also be required.

Qualified applicants must be committed to dynamic and innovative teaching of undergraduate students and ongoing professional development.

The position requires effective communication, along with the ability to develop and think about outcome-driven education collaboratively with colleagues, undergraduate teaching assistants, and students.

Preferred candidates will demonstrate high quality teaching of undergraduate students in anatomy and physiology or other closely related biological sciences.

Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team is essential.
