School Counselor's Role:

Characteristics: commitment to working with a diverse and challenging population, creativity, strong communication skills, enthusiastic.
Clinical Skills: provide individual and group therapy, implement in the moment clinical support, design individualized treatment plans
Team Skills: collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, milieu coordinators, chef, administration within Granite Academy, communicate with parents/guardians and community based treatment providers, coordinate with sending school districts.

Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Candidates must have a Master's degree in a related field. License preferred in MSW, LMHC or LMFT.
  • Candidates must have experience in a school or related setting is required.
  • Candidate should have strong communication skills and be able to interact with students, families, and collaterals in a positive manner.
  • At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
