Join our team as a Bankruptcy Attorney at a boutique law firm based in Columbia, Maryland

We are looking for a candidate ready to dive into a dynamic environment and help us expand our Bankruptcy Practice. The ideal candidate should be licensed in Maryland, with additional licenses in Virginia and the District of Columbia being a great advantage.

Job Opportunity:

You will be responsible for offering legal advice and representation to individuals undergoing bankruptcy procedures. Your role will involve guiding clients through the bankruptcy process, ensuring their rights are safeguarded, and helping them understand their debt relief options. You will analyze each client's financial situation, recommend the most suitable type of bankruptcy filing (Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 13, etc.), and represent them in court proceedings and negotiations with creditors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assessing documents for bankruptcy filings
  • Preparing bankruptcy motions based on case requirements
  • Reviewing bankruptcy petitions, schedules, applications, and plans
  • Experience in submitting documents to bankruptcy and state courts
  • Filing petitions and motions in different bankruptcy courts
  • Active communication with clients, creditors, and court personnel
  • Providing assistance for our expanding practice

  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Effective project management skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents
  • Excellent oral and written communication capabilities
  • 5-10+ years of professional experience
