Software Development Engineer II

Expedia Groups Rapid API powers end-to-end hotel booking functionality for the worlds leading airlines, online travel agencies, and loyalty and membership programs. By providing access to over 700,000 properties across 250,000 destinations, Rapid enables partners to build a custom booking experience with easy integration, industry-leading supply, and competitive rates.

We're looking for an experienced software engineer to join our Rapid team. As a Software Development Engineer II, youll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining innovative solutions to our partners needs.

What youll do

  • Work on a cross-functional team of experts to deliver valuable, maintainable software that meets customer needs.
  • Ensure all software meets the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability.
  • Leverage CI/CD techniques and tools to maximize delivery speed and reliability.
  • Manage data storage and retrieval through various caching strategies and technologies.
  • Ensure code quality and reliability through unit, functional, and performance testing.
  • Identify improvement areas by analyzing performance metrics, including (but not limited to) response times, errors, CPU/memory usage, and cache efficiency.
  • Actively contribute to our team's identity, having fun together and adopting change.

Who you are

  • You have prior experience in enterprise software design, development, and maintenance.
  • You are proficient in Java-based web service development.
  • You have experience with AWS or other cloud computing platforms.
  • You have experience with DataDog, Splunk, or other application monitoring tools.
  • You have experience with container-based application development and deployment.
  • You have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • You are familiar with agile development methodologies.
  • You have excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • You are passionate about learning new things and sharing knowledge with others.

The total cash range for this position in Springfield is $94,500.00 to $132, Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $151,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individuals knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
