Job Summary:

The main responsibility of this role is overseeing plant employees as part of the production management squad. Tasks include hiring, training, performance management, scheduling, day-to-day supervision, discipline, and potential termination of the plant workforce. The Production Supervisor coordinates plant employees to ensure production meets quality and quantity standards to fulfill customer requirements. Cost control and continuous enhancement of production methods, equipment, procedures, and working conditions are also part of the role. In addition, they may handle multiple departments on single or multi-shift schedules, with a significant emphasis on fostering a high-performance team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Effective at managing and evaluating subordinate employees
  • Skilled at interviewing candidates
  • Proficient in communicating with employees to achieve Company goals
  • Training and leading teams to reach Company objectives
  • Collaborating with Shift Managers on safety protocols
  • Providing coaching to employees and resolving issues
  • Managing daily production output
  • Efficiently scheduling associates for operational effectiveness
  • Enforcing company policies and legal requirements
  • Analyzing production measures to enhance productivity
  • Empowering associates for ongoing skills development
  • Conducting accident investigations when necessary
  • Collaborating with Shift Manager and Production Supervisors for workflow optimization
Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Production Supervisor oversees plant lead associates and associates, playing a pivotal role in their hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, discipline, and termination when needed. They are expected to supervise a team reporting directly to them.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of progressive production experience
  • Ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations
  • Knowledge of plant equipment and safety measures
  • Experience in enhancing production control, safety, and quality
  • Excellent communication and human relations skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and quality orientation
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in supervising manufacturing/industrial operations
  • Skills in performance management and skills enhancement
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements:

The role involves constant standing, walking, lifting, and handling materials up to certain weights.

Work Environment:

The position is mainly within the plant, which can have a noisy, wet, and hazardous environment.
