Perimeter Behavioral of Arlington has a great opportunity for a full-time Assessment and Referral (Intake) Clinician on second shift, 4pm - 12:30am. We are seeking individuals who are committed to improving our patient's lives by using a patient centered, collaborative approach to providing high quality of care. This position assists with the assessment and admission of new patients to the facility.

The Assessment and Referral Clinician's responsibilities include the following:

  • Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment.
  • Process all intake requests for information and external referrals.
  • Completes insurance pre-certifications as needed.
  • Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to
  • Will begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager.
  • Ensures the proper "Releases of Information" forms are completed upon admission and process them accordingly.
  • Assist in obtaining needed records and information from referral sources.
  • Arrange disposition and community resources. Communicate with the designated Treatment Coordinator as indicated.
  • Maintains good communication with the Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff as indicated.
  • Maintains log of received calls and disposition of the calls, and other informational tools as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, practicing good standards of customer service.
  • Responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treatment a variety of patient populations.

Qualified Assessment and Referral Clinician candidates should have the following:

  • Must be a Licensed Master's level clinician (LCSW, LMSW, LPC or LPC-Associate) or RN.
  • LMSW and LPC-Associate applicants must be in active supervision.
  • Qualified candidates should have some experience in behavioral health assessment and inpatient treatment.
  • At least one-year previous experience on an acute behavioral health hospital preferred.
