Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated District Nurse to join our team in West Chicago, IL. This is a unique position where the selected candidate will primarily serve as the face of the entire district for all IEP and 504 related issues. The District Nurse will represent the district in all meetings with parents and will only perform normal school nurse duties when there are absences in the district requiring a substitute.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the district representative for all IEP and 504 meetings with parents.
  • Coordinate and manage all health-related issues within the district.
  • Step in as a substitute nurse as needed across the district.
  • Complete a 6-week online course to obtain district nurse certification.

Special Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Valid nursing license must be included with the application; the district will not interview candidates without license verification.
  • Willingness to complete a 6-week online certification course to become a district nurse. The course is on demand, allowing you to learn at your own pace with deadlines to submit coursework. No test is required after the course, just successful completion.

  • This position will start in late August.
