Fresh off a successful Series B funding round, we are introducing a cutting-edge product: an empathic AI assistant that can be integrated into any application. Unlike other AI firms, our API can interpret not just words, but also the nuances of human communication: tones of voice, facial expressions, and more. By analyzing these signals through 'reinforcement learning from human expression' (RLHE), our AI models can excel in various roles, from answering questions to assisting in customer service.
Our ultimate goal is to shape a future where technology leverages emotional cues to better serve human objectives. Additionally, we engage in pioneering research, publish in prestigious journals such as Nature, and support The Hume Initiative, a non-profit that has established ethical guidelines for empathic AI.
About the Role:
We are in search of a seasoned and enthusiastic data engineer to collaborate closely with our research team, ML engineers, and product specialists. In this position, you will play a key role in training, implementing, and monitoring our expression measurement, generation, and empathic models across groundbreaking applications. Your responsibilities will include designing and managing databases, analytics pipelines, and data collection platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for processing large datasets
- Perform intricate data analyses on user trends and model training data
- Create new database schemas to support additional functionalities
- Ensure the reliability and performance of data processing systems
- Work closely with the engineering team to foster growth and collaboration
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering
- Strong interest in exploring new data processing technologies
- Proficiency in data design with a focus on reliability and scalability
- Familiarity with cloud platforms for storage and computation (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS)
- Experience with various types of databases and data warehousing
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g. Mode, Tableau)
- Customer-centric development mindset and excellent communication skills
Bonus:
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Datadog, or other analytics tools
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts
