Diesel Diagnostic Technician

Job Duties:

  • Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our drivers
  • Diagnose mechanical, emissions, Bendix, ABS, HVAC, and Air Brake systems failures using strategic diagnostic strategies
  • Doing preventive maintenance services on equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner
  • Repairing and troubleshooting components such as engines, transmissions and differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
  • Perform and understand detailed inspections and preventive maintenance schedules of equipment
  • Keeping your work area clean and safe
  • Using diagnostic programs to complete basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Transport equipment to and from dealers and outside vendors

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of Diagnostic programs such as Davie 4, Diamond logic builder, Navistar Engine Diagnostics, Service Diagnostic Solutions, Eaton Service Ranger and DDEC
  • Be able to read and trouble shoot diagnostic codes
  • 8 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • Experienced using tools of the trade (including diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools)
  • Has A/C section 609 Certification
  • Has completed manufacturer specific training and possibly is ASE Master Certified
  • Valid class B or A CDL driver's license preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to solve problems
  • Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
