This position requires niche skills with social media, local search, and next generation Web content development and copywriting. This role will be responsible for Web content creation and delivery for digital marketing with a focus on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), user readability, relevance and uniqueness.

Inbound marketing specialists also implement social media strategies on behalf of clients to develop brand awareness, generate inbound traffic and encourage product/service adoption with the Internal Marketing team and client to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network.

This is a comparatively entry level, junior position. Were seeking candidates with good writing skills, a keep eye for detail, and at least some limited experience with managing social media for brands. Our chief requirements are a good work ethic and a willingness to learn and grow with the company.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • The Inbound marketing specialist will be responsible for Web content creation, management and workflow for assigned client sites. This will include: Writing/Editing blogs and articles for specific verticals; Build and manage a repository of content (blogs, articles, page copy, images and video)
  • Ability to create or order and manage the creation of images and video for Web with a focus on enhancing user experience and adding SEO value to Web content.
  • As a copywriter, you will be responsible for the conception and execution of innovative copy and content including all aspects of Web marketing - large web initiatives, micro-sites, landing pages, and email campaigns. You should possess the ability to understand more than one voice; adapting your writing skills as necessary to long form or headlines.
  • Assist with social media campaigns and day-to-day activities; duties may include creating editorial calendars, producing engaging photos and content for posts, scheduling posts, audience building, running social media advertising campaigns, managing comments/messages/mentions across multiple channels, interacting with industry leaders, sharing relevant content to increase engagement, and conducting audits.
  • Working with the Local Search Strategist to set up and manage and QC Google My Business listings (daily), blogger outreach site QC, submit and manage directory listings and citations, directory refreshes, generate Google Posts content, and potentially do blogger outreach and localized link-building.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates with 1-2 years related experience in any (or all) of the following areas will be preferred: Web content creation; Web editorial and/ or project management; Social media marketing - paid and organic; Local search, blogger outreach, and directory management
  • Experience with Web publishing best practices including SEO, user experience, and online media a must; knowledge of Public Relations, social media, mobile/ tablet devices is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Moderate knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Excellent technical skills as related to social media platforms and tools and ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Familiarity with basic SEO and inbound marketing principles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format and to build and maintain relationships.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, Marketing, or related field
  • Agency experience preferred

Supervision/Contacts:

  • Directly reports to the Inbound Marketing manager

Work Environment:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior office environment that requires normal safety precautions such as typical office or administrative work.

Physical Demands:

  • Job involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, and standing may be minimally required to complete tasks.

Travel:

  • Travel will be required rarely, if at all. Total travel time will be less than 10% of the time.
