We are in search of a Slitting Machine Operator for 1st shift, from 7am to 3:30pm.

Is this job for you?

Scope: Execute, oversee, and operate slitting machinery while inspecting products in accordance with standard procedures and work directives.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and operate Slitting machinery following SOPs and work orders or special instructions from supervisors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to sustain quality, operational efficiency, and safety.
  • Regularly clean and upkeep machinery, tools, and work areas per schedule or as necessitated.
  • Maintain essential records as per SOPs and work directives (e.g., production data entry).
  • Identify and report non-conforming conditions (product or process) to supervisors or managers when necessary.
  • Conduct sample tests to ensure adherence to manufacturing standards outlined in SOPs.
  • Demonstrate safety consciousness and adhere to safe working practices.
  • Monitor product quality through initial and final inspections as needed.
  • Engage in self-improvement and assist in training others.
  • Carry out additional duties as instructed by supervisors.
  • Understand all environmental policies and associated impacts of job activities in line with ISO 14001.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Saint-Gobain products and processes specific to the area.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Capability to comprehend and follow SOPs, labels, and instructions.
  • Proven mechanical skills, including the use of measuring instruments.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control.
  • Proficiency in computer skills to meet departmental requirements.
