Department Summary:

Join MITRE's Human Language Technology (HLT) Department where you'll work on language processing solutions for various US Government agencies. We're seeking self-motivated candidates interested in natural language processing capabilities. Bring your expertise in areas like computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and more to address complex mission needs and create real-world impact.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Group Leader (GL) at MITRE, you'll be the frontline supervisor focused on developing and engaging our team members. You'll play a key role in HR, mentorship, and career development for technical staff, contributing to HLT projects, and collaborating with department management to ensure staff growth and project success.

  • Supervise, mentor, and advocate for technical staff
  • Guiding career development and performance management
  • Contribute to HLT projects
  • Collaborate with project leads for staff assignments and development

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of impactful work experience
  • Experience with large language models and NLP technologies
  • Proficiency in Java or Python
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • Rapid problem-solving skills
  • 50% minimum hybrid on-site requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in relevant field
  • Track record of successful HLT system deployments
  • Active DOD security clearance

Candidate Requirements:

Clearance - Secret within one year of hire
