Summary:

Responsible for the overall leadership and growth of the Mortgage Services department. Responsible for achieving production goals and objectives, customer satisfaction, productivity, profitability and compliance in originating, processing, underwriting, closing and sale of residential mortgage loans. Manages team of lenders and operations staff. Develops and maintains investor relationships to ensure competitive product suite. Works collaboratively with retail and commercial partners to effectively cross-sell other bank products and services. Ensures regulatory compliance to minimize the company's exposure to financial loss.


Responsibilities and Job Duties:

  • Ensure department provides a high level of service to all customers and stakeholders.
  • Manages department employees including recruitment, selection, performance management, training and coaching.
  • Direct, lead and offer expertise to functional subordinates in assigned areas.
  • Serves as liaison with current investors and vendors critical to the operation of the department. Researches and make recommendations for new investors and vendors.
  • Develop skills of subordinates through combination of goal setting, delegation, training, counseling and performance management.
  • Recommend staffing levels and personnel actions such as hiring, firing, promotions, transfers, salary actions, and staff training.
  • Manage the achievement of established performance goals and conduct performance appraisal reviews including recommending and executing disciplinary action.
  • Assists in the development of the operational budget for the department and controls expenses within operational budget guidelines.
  • Implementation of policies/guidelines for uniformity and quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales production staff and other internal/external departments to establish loan production performance expectations.
  • Collaborates with bank management and other bank colleges on the development of cross-sell activities to strengthen our overall relationship with customers.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with business partners to enhance and support sales production efforts of all bank products.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years management experience in the Mortgage Lending Industry
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Knowledge in contracting, strategic planning and change management
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
  • Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
  • Knowledgeable on current compliance issues and regulations
  • Solid understanding of the economics related to the origination, sale and servicing of residential mortgage loans
  • Solid understanding of the risk elements related to the origination, sale and servicing of residential mortgage loans
  • Professional written, verbal and interpersonal skills
