This position handles both clinical research contracts and competitive clinical research grants and contracts.

The more complex mix of research studies funded by corporate, foundation, federal, state & local governmental agencies require greater knowledge and a higher level of analytical skills.

Assesses the financial integrity of budgets and ensures the accurate award set-up in the financial system.

This is a fully remote role for candidates that reside in OHIO Responsibilities:

Responsible for a portfolio of corporate-sponsored pre-award contracts review of approximately $35million annually and post-award setups of approximately $25 million annually or transactions.

The competitive application portfolio is valued at approximately $30 million annually with post-award setups of approximately $- 8 million per year.

Reviews complex Clinical Trial Agreements and any associated amendments to ensure the financial terms and conditions reflect internal and external policies.

Prepares an analysis of the budget stated in the contract to ensure it reflects what is in the My Clinical Trials (MCT) System and verify the sponsor compensation for indirect costs (institutional overhead).

Resolves all budget discrepancies to eliminate variances between MCT and budget approved budget.

Works collaboratively with Department, Center for Clinical Research and the Law Department to resolve any issues with contract language and/or budget.

Ensures all regulatory processes are completed prior to execution of the contract and setup of the award in the financial accounting system.

Subject Expert in Human Subjects sponsored research administration in the central office.

For competitive applications review and analyses budget for discrepancies, allowability per sponsor rules/regulations, funding limitations, and if costs are reasonable and in alignment with the proposal (scientific narrative and other required documents).

Works closely with the Institutional officials to achieve successful submission of applications.

Reviews incoming contracts, subcontracts and awards and associated amendments to ensure accuracy of the awarded budget and acceptable terms and conditions stated in the contract.

Accumulates the regulatory documentation necessary prior to the final processing and initiating of the award setup. Sends out the Notice of Award Acceptance with documents to Principal Investigator and designated personnel.

Prepares and negotiates corporate sponsored coordinating agreements, academic research organizations (ARO) agreements and fee for service agreement and all subsequent amendment with collaborating institutions.

Reviews and analyses the budget for all submissions and awarding of corporate sponsored pre-clinical and basic science awards. Ensures the financial integrity of the proposal.

Process Work Orders and Task Orders associated with corporate sponsored Master Clinical and/or Service petitive Awards - performs final review of budgets prior to awarding in the accounting system.

This financial review ensures the correct award dollars (direct and indirect costs), budget categories and the appropriate indirect cost rate is applied.

Effort Reporting and Cost Share analysis is completed prior to award setup and every subsequent year of funding.
ESNAPS (competitive grants) process preliminary funding setups after the submission of progress reports. Analyst will create a budget worksheet to establish a provisional grant activity while waiting on actual award document. Upon receipt of actual award, adjust to reflect full funding. A final review and analysis is done to ensure the correct budget has been loaded into the accounting system.

No Cost Extension (NCE) Analysis (competitive grants)- when project needed to be extended an analysis of the remaining funds to be used if performed in addition to the effort and cost share.

This position is normally assigned departments with more complex proposals and awardsCompliance:

Ensures compliance with all rules and regulations of CCF and external sponsors - (corporate, foundation and federal).Interprets and advises the CCF sponsored research community on policy updates.

Acts as subject expert for corporate sponsored agreements.
This level is also designated as the Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) coordinator. Compiles and submits all FCOI review requests for pending awards to the Conflict of Interest Office.

This level is also designated to be the FFATA coordinator - responsible for the monthly reporting of all federal first tier subawards fully executed made by Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.

This is a federal requirement and subject to the annual audit review.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required

Master's Degree preferredCertifications:


Certified Research Administrator (CRA) through the Research Administrators Certification Council or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) through the Association for Clinical Research Professionals plexity of Work:Knowledge of sponsored research administration for corporate clinical trial agreements, federal clinical trials (cooperative agreements) and foundation clinical awards.

Supports more complex mix of research studies funded by federal agencies and corporations.
This position supports every type of sponsored research agreements.

Work Experience:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in sponsored research administration required

Clinical research experience preferredPhysical Requirements:
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
