General InformationCLINICAL INTERVIEW UNIT Beds: 54 beds total: 36 on 6 Rainier and 18 beds on 7 Olympic 1 year minimum of experience Will you take a first-time traveler? Yes, upon review

Patient Types:
Oncology: Not expected to administer chemotherapy (unless certified)

Medical:
majority of the unit CHF, COPD, Sepsis, pneumonia, Cellulitis, IVDA, ETOH, DVT/PE, AKI, CKD, pancreatitis Tele patients Psych frequently on this unit, but not designated
Patient Ratios: 1:5 Team nursing: 1:7; will have

LPN CNA:
1:10 (EKGs, remove IVs/foleys, blood sugars)

Required Certifications:
BLS ONS Chemo certification required (ONS/ONCC -or- Fundamentals of Chemo)

Must complete Rhythm Interpretation Exam as part of Compliance Skills required General MS skill set- management of drains/tubes, NG placement and management, medication administration, foley care Hourly rounding, bedside report, monitoring of tele patients Able to confidently provide care for the above patient types Soft Skills:
Teamwork Something kind for a coworker Accountability Mistake, how it was coached and how the practice changed Time Management Support on the Unit: Charge nurse is without patient assignment

HUC:
Day shift only Break/

Resource Nurse:
(LPN) will ensure you get all your breaks when staffing allows Phlebotomy: Lab draws Vascular Access Team will do central line dressing changes (if order is put in)

RT Hospitalist in-house 24/7 Clinical educators on the unit shared between all medical units OT, PT, ST (M-F) Charting System/Equipment:
EPIC (preferred or strong computer skills)

BD Alaris IV Pumps Pyxis (medication dispensing) Centralized Tele Monitoring with tele tech Floating:
MSU ED Holding MS

Overflow Orientation:

General Orientation (get badge, net learning) Unit orientation clinical educator (4 hr.) 2x 12- hour shift, on the unit Traveler Telemetry Competency Required? Required to be completed and passed prior to start.

SimpliFi Compliance is responsible for grading this exam.

Scheduling:
Every other weekend expectation 6 weeks of schedule at a time

RTO:
Able to approve up to 5 days, additional time email NM: Angelique Banton Must extend at end of contract if missing hours Multiple weeks off at a time, email NM

Angelique Banton Holiday Expectations:
varies by year and staffing Must attend pre-shift huddle (0700/1900)

Scrub Color:

Any Color, must be professional Free Parking in Designated Areas Must fill out white boards, do and document hourly rounding, and give bedside report Saline Flushes considered medication.

Do not leave at the bedside or in your scrub pocket Do not leave medications in unlocked cart. When wasting medications, two-nurse verification is required.

(Narcotics, Benzodiazepine, etc.) Narcotics must be scanned/returned to pyxis within 30 minutes of being pulled Documenting pain before and after giving pain medication (30 minutes for IV, 1 hour for oral No phones on the unit.
