This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Operations (CG-DCO), National Maritime Center Regional Exam Center Operations Division.

Duties
This position serves as a Legal Instruments Examiner, responsible for administrative support in collecting payments for user fees charged by the Coast Guard, processing NMC applications, and maintaining records related to fee collection.
Responsibilities include:
Serving as the REC Mariner Credential User Fee Collection Clerk (MCUFC).Reviewing and processing Coast Guard MMC applications.Accurate entry of applicant information into the MMLD system.Scheduling mariners for required appointments.

U.S. Citizenship required.National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is necessary.Valid state driver's license is required.Unofficial transcripts required at application.Position may require a one-year probationary period.All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date.
Qualifications
At the GS-04 level: Applicants must have one year of general experience at least the GS-03 grade level in the federal service. General experience includes responding to customer inquiries, providing assistance, and meeting deadlines.
At the GS-05 level: Applicants need one year of specialized experience similar to the GS-04 level. Specialized experience includes reviewing applications, responding to inquiries, and drafting routine correspondence.
Education:
This position does not have a positive education requirement. Provide education details only from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Additional Information
Applicants should be prepared to complete the Declaration for Federal Employment (OF-306) and understand recruitment incentives may be offered.
