Team Intro

As the Program Management Officer (PMO) within the TikTok USDS Legal & Compliance team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Legal in executing strategic initiatives, managing day-to-day operations, and fostering effective communication within the legal department and across the organization.

You will be responsible for providing operational and administrative leadership, facilitating decision-making processes, and driving efficiency and effectiveness in the legal department's functions; turning complex legal department challenges into action and outcomes in a fast moving and environment.


In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department.

We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with the Head of Legal to develop and execute strategic plans, priorities, and initiatives aligned with the organization's goals and legal objectives.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the operational aspects of the legal department, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance metrics tracking, to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Program Management: Manage key legal Programs and initiatives from inception to completion, coordinating crossfunctional teams and resources as necessary to achieve Program objectives on time and within budget. Improve current processes, tools and systems and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency, communication, crossfunctional collaboration and productivity. Anticipate needs and take initiative proactively; own Program management tasks and ensure plans are documented and stakeholders are informed accordingly.
  • OKRs and Reports: Drive constructing, prioritizing and aligning team OKRs based on yearly plans and business goals. Own tracking on progress to ensure OKRs are being met. Deliver inputs for ongoing legal team reports (Bi-Weekly & Bi-Monthly) based on the legal team's focus and deliverables. Be able to tell the story of how the legal team's work is impacting business.
  • Communication Facilitation: Act as a liaison between the legal department and other departments, senior management, external stakeholders, and external counsel, ensuring clear and effective communication channels.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the development, review, and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Risk Management: Identify legal and regulatory risks facing the organization and work with the Head of Legal to develop strategies to mitigate such risks and enhance compliance efforts.
  • Talent Development: Support the Head of Legal in talent acquisition, performance management, and professional development initiatives within the legal department, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Executive Support: Provide proactive highlevel administrative support to the Head of Legal, including managing calendars, creating agendas and scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and handling confidential information with discretion. Assist the Head of Legal in documenting and communicating decisionmaking, program management, and initiative implementation
Qualifications


We are looking for a proactive, detail oriented partner that understands what makes legal departments effective to help drive key initiatives and scale team-wide processes.

As PMO on the legal team, you'll help leadership streamline communication and best practices and act as a liaison to other PMOs, sharing learnings and insights globally.

This is the role for you if you are passionate about cross-functional collaboration, directing time-sensitive projects to conclusion, and tracking and organizing important information.

You will be expected to work proactively, take action on urgent priorities, and act with a high level of discretion when handling confidential information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years managing senior legal management team. Proven experience in a legal department or law firm environment, with demonstrated success in proactive problem solving, operational management, and organized and detailedoriented Program leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of legal principles, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to the organization's industry and operations.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problemsolving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software.
  • Demonstrated servant leadership ability, with a proactive, teamfocused, strategic, courageous, and solutionsoriented mindset.
