Responsibilities



Applicants will undergo review and evaluation on the following dates: Jun 17, Jun 27, and closing on July 8. Announcement closes once the position is filled.



The main aim of this role is to plan, create, manage, and oversee Leisure and Recreation programs including the Outdoor Recreation essential program components and Air Force directed programs. You will also coordinate various recreation clinics and trips to support a large outdoor adventure program. Moreover, you will oversee the family recreation pool, including managing lifeguards and swim instructors, and step in as a lifeguard when required. Implementing directives, selecting activities and services, as well as ensuring compliance with regulations are key responsibilities. Additionally, you will analyze costs, manage finances, track program effectiveness, resolve customer issues, and oversee equipment maintenance. Responsibilities also include supervising employees, organizing volunteers, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Conditions of Employment

  • This role mandates completion of a background investigation with satisfactory results.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • The ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds is necessary.

Qualifications



This position is open to all individuals. To qualify, you must have experience in group activities or programs, particularly in Outdoor Adventure Recreational Activities. Certifications such as Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace, American Canoe Associations, Lifeguard Certification, and Certified Pool Operator are highly regarded. Knowledge of safety regulations and experience with Microsoft Office software programs is beneficial. Physical exertion is expected, including the ability to bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.



Education



Although some federal jobs allow the substitution of education for experience, this role does not permit such substitution.



FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you completed education in foreign institutions, you must demonstrate its equivalence to U.S. educational standards.

  • This is a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) role involved in Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities for the Air Force and Space Force.

  • This role is part of a bargaining unit under Union Name AFGE and Local or Chapter Number 2568.
