Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Medical Billing Specialist & Front Office Receptionist.

This position requires a blend of medical billing expertise, front office receptionist responsibilities, and office maintenance tasks in the context of providing ABA and speech therapy services.


Responsibilities:

Medical Billing:

  • Process medical billing and coding accurately and efficiently for ABA and speech therapy services.
  • Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding accounts related to therapy services.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits for therapy sessions.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and denials in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Front Office Receptionist:

  • Greet patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
  • Schedule therapy sessions and manage patient registration.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members.
  • Manage patient records and ensure accuracy of information.
  • Assist with insurance verification and patient billing inquiries related to therapy services.

Office Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front office and therapy areas.
  • Monitor and replenish office and therapy supplies as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for office and therapy equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, CPT, and ICD10 coding.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement processes, particularly in the context of therapy services.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in medical billing or office administration is a plus.
