Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities

We are about to launch a new data product, around which we intend to produce journalistic insight and unique content so our Editor in Chief will define the shape of our content services into the future, leading a small team initially, but with ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities of this role include, but aren't limited to;

  • Leading the team to ensure the brand continues our business as usual production of high-quality breaking news and reports.
  • Ensuring the brand maintains a very high standard of journalism, that our content is high value for customers, and is well regarded.
  • Tracking, understanding and increasing customer engagement in our content, and using that insight to develop and expand production of content that informs customer decision making.
  • Leading, engaging and extracting value from the Compliance Week Advisory board, comprising of senior practicing compliance professionals.
  • Alongside our Managing Director, develop a commercially viable, strategic-growth plan to secure board investment, and then recruit & expand the team internationally.
  • In collaboration with others, establish a robust product development pipeline to support double digit revenue growth.
  • Working with an offshore data research team, and the UK technology team, to direct data gathering and enhancement for our new data services.
  • Supporting our events team to create/ develop industry leading conference programmes in the US and Europe, including opening, chairing panels and working with speakers.
  • Supporting the commercial sales team with ideas for bespoke webinars, surveys, e-books and other content that can be sponsored by our commercial partners.

Essentials needed for this role;

  • Proven experience in B2B journalism and editorial production.
  • In-depth knowledge of market sector, which includes; corporate governance, financial sector, compliance, legal sector, government/policy, ESG, data protection, fin-crime and similar topic areas.
  • Experience of collaborating with commercial sales and marketing teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines whilst adhering to the highest level of quality.

Desirables needed for this role;

  • Experience developing, innovating or supporting new products, services and content.
  • International news coverage.
