Position Information:
The Transportation Training Technician Assistant evaluates school bus drivers, delivers training to school bus drivers, and delivers training to school bus driver trainees. This position assists the Transportation Training Technician in leading and coordinating the District's school bus driver training program. This position delivers new and ongoing driver training in support of safe transportation in compliance with law and regulation. Dispatchers are responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and communication of daily school bus driver activities; for immediate driver and customer support; for meeting McKinney-Vento, foster student, preschool, Move 60, activity, academic, and extra-curricular routing and coordination needs; for meeting the immediate requirements of the transportation adverse weather or emergency response; and for meeting field, extra-curricular, and other trip needs.

Shift Details: 8 hours per day / 260 Work Day Calendar
Continuing Position: Employees have reasonable assurance of continued employment to the following school year. However, an employee's total work hours and the designated beginning and ending times may vary.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Hourly Rate / Salary: $42.40 per hour / $46.05 per hour

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in pupil transportation or related education and experience in pupil transportation customer service, supervision, routing, scheduling, coordination, software use, and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Experience as a school bus driver.
  • Experience training school bus drivers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Successful experience working with culturally diverse families and communities.
  • Prior experience in a dispatcher role.
  • School bus driving experience.
  • One or more (1+) years of work experience in training, evaluating, professional development, compliance, or a related field
