  • This is a highly visible position in the organization reporting to the Chief Operations Officer with a dotted line to the CEO. You'll pivot between analysis and education to engaging with the field operations teams, doctors and treatment coordinators to implemented strategies for improved performance and financial success
  • Be a part of a dynamic leadership team made of the CEO, COO, CFO, CMO, CCO, VP of HR, and VP of Marketing; this is a highly collaborative team of professionals who love what they do and enjoy mutually beneficial relationships and a healthy corporate culture based on trust and respect
  • Split your time between visiting practices in the field and working remotely from either your home office or the organization's corporate headquarters in Sacramento. (You are not required to live in the company's services area as long as you're available to travel to Northern California and spend approx. three days per week in the practices)
  • Ortho is a mission-critical service line for the company and you'll be provided with all the tools and resources needed to be successful
  • Company went through a highly successful rebrand several years ago to enhance their positioning in the marketplace and are known to have a solid reputation

  • As part of their DSO model, the company acquires dental and ortho practices for physicians who want a strategic partner to shoulder the administrative headaches of managing their own practice. Additionally, they also build and operate de novo practices

Position Overview

As the Vice President of Orthodontics Operations ("VPOO"), you will lead all aspects of Orthodontic clinical and business operations, team effectiveness and production. The VPOO is responsible for the business development, daily operations, and overall profitability of all Orthodontic lines of business. You'll collaborate with Orthodontic Line of Business team to achieve operational goals while inspiring the team to uphold the culture, value, and purpose of the organization. In conjunction with Senior and/or Area and/or PSO Leadership team members, you'll take on other operational initiatives and Area and/or company-wide special projects as assigned.

Background Profile

  • Significant experience with large, multi-site orthodontic practices (as opposed to general practice or endodontics)
  • Ability to spend approximately three days per week in the field visiting practices covering a territory from Sacramento to Bay Area. (You are not required to live in the company's services area as long as you're available to travel to Northern California and spend approx. three days per week in the practices)
  • Sales management experience within a direct-to-consumer retail health care environment is a plus (i.e. Dentistry, Vision, and Aesthetics)
  • Experience leading multiple teams and holding them accountable by setting clear expectations is required
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and implement corrective actions based on financial results to maintain and improve the financial stability and operational efficiency of the orthodontic business
  • Proven history of achieving results by setting goals and actively rallying others to achieve them
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service and time management skills
  • Dentrix experience is desirable
