The Medical Dialysis Unit at Cobb Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Care Partner. This position is PRN/Night Shift (7 pm - 7 am). The Care Partner functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse to promote a positive patient experience by collaborating with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, comfort measures, and basic patient care functions.
Advanced technical training skills may be required, such as phlebotomy, dressing changes, and more. The role also involves performing clerical functions, maintaining supplies, and supporting clinical care as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in hourly patient rounding
- Answers telephone and call lights promptly
- Provides patient care under the direction of the RN
- Monitors data entry for key patient safety information
- Supports professional nursing practice through shared leadership
- Transports unit supplies, patient care supplies, medications, and equipment
- Communicates patient care concerns to relevant staff promptly
- Maintains equipment and a safe patient care environment
Rising High School Senior or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position.
