About the Organization

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne (BGCFW) was established in 1989 by a group of community leaders who recognized the need for a safe and nurturing environment for children and teens outside of school hours. Initially housed in a modest 3-room setup, BGCFW has evolved into a thriving community serving over 2800 members. The primary goal remains unchanged: to provide Fort Wayne's youth with a supportive and engaging space to transition into successful adults by offering programs centered on Academic Success, Character & Leadership Development, and Healthy Lifestyles.

Our expansive 2.3-acre campus at the corner of Pontiac and Fairfield Avenue, featuring a 42,000 square foot building, signifies our commitment to accommodating even more youngsters in the future.

JOB PURPOSE:

To actively contribute to the mission, objectives, and aspirations of the Boys & Girls Club of Grant County. Creating an atmosphere that fosters positive outcomes for members in Character & Leadership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Academic Success. Upholding the core values of honesty, respect, and responsibility.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the VP of Resource Development & Marketing to shape and execute strategic initiatives concerning donor engagement and fundraising activities.
  • Resource Development: Secure financial backing by engaging with corporations, individuals, foundations, and civic bodies. Represent Club mission and goals to the Board of Directors and community. Cultivate strategic partnerships with local businesses.
  • Resource Management: Monitor fundraising revenue, prepare income and variance reports, acknowledge donations, and organize special recognition events.
  • Marketing: Identify optimal marketing channels, coordinate with creative teams for branding concepts, graphic designs, and promotional content.
  • Stewardship: Align efforts with other departments to achieve organizational objectives. Ensure timely appreciation messages are sent to donors, partners, and volunteers.
  • Volunteer Management: Expand the volunteer network by liaising with various entities, conduct onboarding processes, and express gratitude to volunteers.
  • Special Events: Coordinate fundraising events from planning to execution.
  • CRM Donor Management and Engagement System: Enhance donor database for substantial cultivation and solicitation.
  • Relationships: Maintain regular communication with Club management, donors, partners, and volunteers to solicit support and share Club updates.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Dedicated to the Boys & Girls Club's mission and vision.
  • Proficient in utilizing computers and standard office software.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational aptitude, including attention to detail and managing multiple time-sensitive projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and groups both independently and as part of a team.

SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of two years in fundraising, marketing, events, or community engagement roles. Possession of a valid driver's license. Effective communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and deadlines.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Capable of fulfilling all responsibilities with or without accommodation. Willingness to work flexible hours, lift weights, and navigate various locations for work-related activities.
