Tabor Asset Management, LP ("Tabor") is an investment manager focused primarily on Consumer but also on Technology, Media and Telecommunications stocks globally. The firm has been around for 5 years and is run by Jonathan Jacoby (CIO) and Ankur Jain (President). We are a 7-person team based in New York.

Description

Tabor has an opportunity to add a full-time CFO/CCO to join the firm's business and operations team working closely with the executive team. The portfolio consists primarily of level-1 securities globally across our master-feeder fund structure and SMAs. The CFO/CCO will lead the finance & compliance initiatives and make sure of timely, efficient and high-quality work. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility for both remote work and in-office collaboration.

CFO responsibilities

  • Manage fund expenses & allocations along with a detailed review of the fund's month-end NAV packets
  • Work with outside auditor to complete the annual audit of investment funds, the related year-end financial statements and footnotes, and to provide year-end audit schedules and support to auditors
  • Support key finance functions for SMAs & management company such as general accounting, annual audit and tax, invoicing, budgeting, expense processing and P&L reporting
  • Manage soft dollar budget, commissions, and research expenses

CCO responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing all regulatory filings and reporting required as a registered investment advisor including filing Form ADV, Form D, 13F and all annual testing required for the compliance program
  • Maintain firm's compliance manual, ensuring it reflects current regulatory requirements & internal policies
  • Conducting periodic reviews and internal testing to assess effectiveness & identify areas of improvement
  • Maintain valuation & risk policies & procedures, and ensure accurate risk reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and examinations, ensuring timely and accurate responses

Qualifications

The successful candidate will follow best practices in the industry and be comfortable getting involved in multiple aspects of finance, compliance and operations thriving in an entrepreneurial environment. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Finance (CPA ideal) and compliance experience, preferably at another investment manager trading equities
  • Senior leadership experience, strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to distill and convey data and insights clearly and concisely
  • Solid understanding of accounting software such as QuickBooks, and also Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, FactSet and Eze Eclipse
  • Exhibits a process-driven mindset, characterized by meticulous attention to detail and disciplined approach
  • Natural problem solver with an eye towards industry best practices
  • Interest in identifying value-creating business models and an understanding of opportunity/risk balance
  • Driven self-starter who is energized by working in an entrepreneurial environment in a competitive industry
