Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment team as a Senior Aircraft Field Support Engineer. In this role, you will be part of the AFS team supporting the F-35 Program at the Patuxent River, Maryland facility.
The ideal candidate will serve as the technical interface between Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and the on-site customer, particularly in addressing maintenance and modification issues related to the F-35 aircraft.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the on-site Customer in resolving maintenance and modification issues.
- Conduct troubleshooting and analysis of field challenges.
- Attend debriefings to identify emerging issues that require prompt action to prevent aircraft downtime.
- Document operational and maintenance problems for trend analysis.
- Initiate Action Requests for unique operational issues.
- Provide training to Customer personnel and offer on-site support.
- Travel as needed, including to hazardous duty locations.
- Maintain effective communication with all levels of customer personnel.
- Lead engineering tasks and provide status updates to Customer and Program Management.
- Obtain and maintain necessary security clearances. Must be a US Citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience with Vehicle Systems (APG) and/or Mission Systems (Avionics).
- Military aircraft maintenance experience.
Desired Skills:
- Technical Report writing.
- Experience with drawing/schematics reading and interpretation.
- Fault Isolation and problem analysis experience at the sub-system level.
- Airframe & Power plant (A&P) license.
- Military Fighter Aircraft experience.
- Knowledge of CATIA & System/Software Engineering Environment (S/SEE).
- Previous Field Service FSE/REP experience.
- Vehicle Systems (APG)/Avionics experience F-22 or F-35.
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance. Must be a US Citizen for consideration.
