About the Job:
The Registered Nurse is in charge of providing nursing care to patients, supervising care given by LPNs, CNAs, and other staff on the assigned unit and shift.
Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating individual care plans, assessing patients' needs, maintaining medical records, and educating patients and families on health conditions while ensuring safety.
- Regularly assesses patient's status and documents gathered information.
- Ensures specific nursing treatment plans are in place based on assessed needs.
- Administers medications accurately, adjusts under provider's supervision, and supervises self-administration using safety initiatives.
- Provides education and explanations to patients, families, and co-workers on various topics for optimal care.
- Ensures thorough documentation, completion of patient assignment sheets, and gives detailed reports to the next shift.
- Requires graduation from an approved nursing school and at least one year of nursing experience in a clinical area.
- Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery is preferred.
- Certification in Psychiatric Nursing is a plus.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification are mandatory.
- First aid certification may be needed based on facility requirements.
