Job Description

  • Be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to meet the Company's business needs.
  • Help ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Sales department.
  • Maintain full knowledge of and adhere to all Shaner Hotels, franchise, and hotel/departmental policies and procedures, making sure the Sales team is also informed.
  • Be well-informed about current customers and accounts, especially those corporations, agencies, associations, tour operators, sports teams, and other groups who acquire hotel services.
  • Assist in determining and executing strategies to attract additional business or market segments for the hotel.
  • Create special packages or programs to increase occupancy during slow periods and develop advertising campaigns through various channels to support these initiatives.
  • Participate in trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and other local organizations to boost hotel sales.
  • Maintain open communication with General Manager, Department Managers, and staff.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.
Responsibilities

Responsible for the development, solicitation, and maintenance of accounts in designated market segments to meet or exceed budgeted objectives, and for managing all aspects of the Sales department in line with hotel standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years progressive sales experience, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests, management, and co-workers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree in hospitality management or business is desirable.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with the local economic and market landscape.
  • Working understanding of hotel operations.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret various documents and manuals.
  • Capability to write reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Skilled in delivering effective presentations to customers or employees.
  • Familiarity with Sales and Marketing resources.
  • Understanding of event orders, safety regulations, and other manuals.
  • Knowledge of organizing event requirements based on provided information.
  • Understanding of local activities and attractions suitable for the target clientele.

Situated just off Gordon Highway, the hotel provides easy access to activities like golf at Augusta National Golf Club, swimming, tennis, bowling, fine dining, and upscale shopping at the Augusta Mall, Historic Downtown district, and the Surrey Center.
