Duties include leading the programming, assembly, and validation of robotic skeletal fixation (e.g., fixation plates and rods) fabrication for Point-of-Care Manufacturing. Programming, assembly, and validation of Melt Electrowriting of Trans Aortic Valve Replacement, Mitral Valve leaflets, heart patch, cartilage, and cornea. Lead in writing journal papers and presenting at scientific meetings on all of these projects. Direct and supervise Graduate, Medical Student, and Undergraduate Research Assistants who assist the Postdoctoral Researcher on these projects. Maintain careful watch on budget, orders, and laboratory storage and use of all experimental materials. Responsible conduct of research in maintaining confidentiality and long term records of activities, data collected, and project security prior to P.I.-approved public reporting. Prepare for, attend, and participate in project-specific and whole laboratory meetings.
Required Education:
PhD in Robotic Programing or Equivalent
Desired Education:
PhD in Electronics
Required Experience:
Robotics programming. Manufacturing of metallic medical devices. Handling heated polymers. High power (>220V) electrical equipment. Professional (journal) project reporting.
Desired Experience:
Design and assembly of electronic equipment. IEEE and ASTM Technical specifications. Cell culture for cytotoxicity and biocompatibility. Use of medical and histologic imaging to obtain shapes for virtual surgical scene, treatment planning, and virtual device design and performance testing.
