Overview

**Job Title:** Clinical Research Coordinator at Virginia Commonwealth University

Dr. Thomson, Director of Research at the Injury and Violence Prevention Program (IVPP) at Virginia Commonwealth University is looking for four enthusiastic clinical research coordinators to join the Injury and Violence Prevention Research Lab.

The selected candidate will collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and research staff to support various projects focused on understanding and preventing violence, including externalizing disorders among youth.

Responsibilities:
- Research Support
- Implement research protocols
- Data collection through surveys, focus groups, and interviews
- Conduct literature reviews related to violence prevention and psychopathology
- Data entry, cleaning, and analysis using statistical software
- Coordinate with external agencies for intervention scheduling
- Utilize virtual reality in research activities
- Administrative Support
- Manage participant appointments
- Assist with grant applications and reports
- Organize and maintain databases and research materials
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and protocols
- Communication
- Assist in manuscript preparation for publication
- Develop materials for academic conferences
- Collaborate with community partners

Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Science, or related field
- Previous research experience, particularly in violence prevention
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Experience in promoting diversity in a work environment

Preferred Education & Experience:
- Familiarity with Institutional Review Board (IRB) procedures
- Publications/presentations in violence prevention and disorders
- Interest/experience in virtual reality and psychophysiology
- Graduate degree in psychology or related field
