ROLE SUMMARY

As the Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various financial reporting aspects for WAI. This includes coordinating accounting month-end procedures, conducting general ledger assessments, and providing assistance during annual audits. The role demands a profound grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls. Your role as Senior Accounting Manager is crucial in guaranteeing accurate and punctual financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the company's financial goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise the monthly financial close process for all domestic and international locations, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation.
  • Provide guidance to the Accounts Payable team for efficient payment processing.
  • Ensure timely reporting of financial information, including preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Validate the accuracy of financial transactions through meticulous review and analysis.
  • Oversee intercompany transactions, settlements, and eliminations for proper accounting treatment.
  • Review and approve monthly account reconciliations and roll forward schedules for accuracy.
  • Assist in analyzing monthly financial results, identifying trends, variances, and areas for enhancement.
  • Review and endorse all monthly journal entries to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Implement controls to maintain company asset valuation, safeguarding, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the annual year-end external audit by providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor queries.
  • Contribute to developing and enhancing accounting policies and procedures to ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting regulations.
  • Guide, train, and manage associates in coordination with the Human Resources Department.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and cross-training initiatives for team productivity and skill development.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as directed by management.


QUALIFICATIONS ( Education, Experience, & Skills required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience (public/private mix preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP accounting.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or cost accounting is advantageous.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Licensing or other special certifications: CPA preferred.

Salary Description: $140,000/Year
